HERITAGE ANIMAL PROJECT
The Heritage Animal Project involves selecting a Junior Exhibitor to take an animal to the Junior Livestock Auction on behalf of the Fairgrounds Foundation. The Foundation provides the animal, pays all the expenses, and extends a special scholarship to the exhibitor for raising the Heritage Animal. In 2009, the Fairgrounds Foundation raised approximately $28,000 through its Heritage Animal project. This money was used to help construct the newly-built Whitney Pavilion.
To support this project, consider forming a buying group and joining together to bid on the Heritage Animal at the Junior Livestock Auction at the 2011 Fair.
Heritage Animal Application If you’re a high school junior or senior interested in raising and showing the 2012 Foundation Heritage Animal, please download the application, fill it out, and mail it to the Fairgrounds Foundation.
